As part of the Australia Day activities for 2017, the Macedon Ranges Shire Council will once again be awarding a Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Community Achievement, Community Event Award and Arts Ambassador award.
Each year Council likes to recognise and celebrate amazing people who make outstanding contributions to our everyday community life whether they are business achievements, charitable work, commitment to sports clubs or artistic endeavours; anything that demonstrates excellence in their field. Not only the prominent people in each community, but also those who work tirelessly in the background.
If you know of anyone worthy of an Award nomination, please submit one via the below contact details.
Each year, Council also offers Australia Day Grants to the maximum of $500 for community groups hosting Australia Day events.
If you are involved with a group that is planning an Australia Day township celebration, please apply. An Australia Day grant can contribute to making your event memorable.
If you know of someone who should be nominating a community group or active citizen for an award or applying for a grant—please tell them about the Australia Day program.
Both awards and grants will ensure that our Australia Day celebrations continue to reflect and celebrate the diversity of community activity within our shire.
