As of 5 December 2016, a number of changes to the application process for Victorian applicants of the Working with Children Check have been introduced. These include:
- A new application form with a number of enhancements to create a more user-friendly and efficient experience for applicants.
- The option of securely verifying their identity online using two primary documents. This will reduce the time it takes to finalise an application at a participating Australia Post outlet. Applicants who successfully verify their identity electronically will only need to present one acceptable photo ID document at Australia Post.
- The list of acceptable POI documents has expanded to include many commonly used documents and cards. Documents are now classified as ‘primary’ and ‘secondary’, replacing the previous 100 points system.
