Come along to a community forum that introduces an exciting project that will be coming to Kyneton.

The Verily Connect project is about creating virtual dementia-friendly rural communities to increase support for carers of people living with dementia and/or memory problems.

Community forum for Verily Connect: Virtual Dementia Friendly Rural Communities Project is hosted by Cobaw Community Health and La Trobe University, Victoria.

DATE: Monday 23 July, 2018

TIME: 11.00 am – 12.00 pm

PLACE: Kyneton Mechanics Institute, Meeting room 3, 81 Mollison St, Kyneton

Please RSVP by Wednesday 18 July, 2018 To k.royals@latrobe.edu.au or verilyconnect@latrobe.edu.au, or phone: 03 5444 7676.

A light lunch and tea/coffee will be provided and you can let the organisers know of any dietary requirements in the RSVP.

The project will do 3 main things:

  • It will provide a website and mobile application to help support rural carers of people living with dementia and/or memory problems.
  • It will offer peer support groups for carers that meet online via video-conference.
  • It will provide training and resources to local volunteers so they can assist carers and older people living in Kyneton to learn how to use online technologies.

Please come along to the forum to hear more about the project and to contribute your ideas about ways that people living with dementia and/or memory problems and their carers can receive more support.

Carers, people interested in volunteering, service providers, and any other interested community members are warmly invited to participate in the forum.

The project, Verily Connect, is an Australian Government Initiative.
