We rely heavily on the goodwill, skills and expertise of our volunteers and they enable us to offer a range of services to the Kyneton and surrounding communities as well as bringing a wealth of local knowledge. In a nutshell, we couldn’t do what we do without our wonderful volunteers. During our group days and at our working bees we cut up fabric, do some sewing, teach people how to sew, sometimes we also do ironing and even screen printing. There are lots of different jobs in our group and we do our best to match each person to their passion.
We’ll provide all the support and training you need to get you up and running including a warm welcome. There are take home kits available at the Community House anytime. These are easy to use and most have the handles pre-done. We are also looking for people to help with a stall outside Woolworths and IGA supermarkets. We also have a range of products for sale like Bought to Support bags and produce bags. All the money made goes towards servicing machines, buying cotton, needles and other supplies.
We meet each Tuesday from 1-3pm at the Community House, 34 Mollison Street in Kyneton. We also meet on the second Thursday of the month at Bupa nursing home.
We offer volunteers:
- Improved communication skills
- Closer links to your community
- Opportunities to network
- A sociable working environment
- Flexible contribution hours
- A variety of roles
- Active community support.
Children are welcome.
